The Most Spectacular Christmas Light Display in Montgomery County, MD

MarylanderOnTheMove

This year, we discovered a hidden Holiday gem in Brookeville, MD. How have I not known about this jaw-dropping Christmas light display until now?!

The Homeowner of this brightly-lit private residence told FOX 5 News that her twinkling light display has been up for the last five years.

There are more than 275,000 LED lights on this property, along with almost 200 snowmen and other figurines on display.

These snowmen know how to party!

Santa and his Elf band

The driveway is lined with snowmen, too. Head down the illuminated stairway and enter a true Winter Wonderland.

Some of the colorful decorations include:

Brightly colored trees and angels with trumpets galore

Candy cane lane

Gingerbread lane

A "thin-ice" frozen skate pond

Penguins eating s'mores and playing ice hockey

and a slippery slope speedway where Santa races other Christmas characters

Can you guess who wins? Santa does, of course!

According to FOX 5 News, the Homeowner's electric bill costs less than $1,000 for the entire season, thanks to many being lit by solar power.

I did some research, and it seems in 2015, the family worked with Manna Food Center to accept donations for the Manna Food Center (cash/check, non-perishable food items), and the Nina Hyde Breast Cancer Center, part of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.

This magnificent light display is not open to the public, so I wonder what great cause the Homeowner is working toward this year?!

Unfortunately, it is the owner's wish to keep the address a secret. But, why not pack up the family in the car for some good old fashioned Christmas caroling while driving around town viewing the festive neighborhood Christmas lights of Brookeville? There are definitely some honorable mentions that you won't regret seeing while you are on the hunt for this out of this world display.

If you can't find it, check out this article from FOX 5 with a video that shows an aerial view for the full effect. Truly astounding!

I did my best to capture a quick video of the colored tree line in the back yard for you below.

Holiday spirit shines through the love that was poured into this display. Many thanks to this Brookeville family for this magical Christmas experience. You made my heart happy!

Good luck in your search for this extraordinary Winter Wonderland. You will not be disappointed when you find it!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Meredith
